Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my 2022 Brighton Marathon JustGiving page.

I have seen friends and well-known celebrities benefit from the amazing work Prostate Cancer UK does in creating awareness about helping stop this cancer being a killer and thereby not only saving lives but also the grief of close relatives and friends.

As a #ReluctantRunner who has come to see the benefits (and some enjoyments) of running fairly late in their life, I have been inspired both by #CouchTo5K and #parkrunuk to challenge myself.

After completing more than 100 parkruns, I am determined to complete my first marathon in Brighton in April 2022. This will be a huge challenge, but any sacrifices and physical pain will be countered by the knowledge I am not only overcoming a physical target, but also raising awareness and money for Prostate Cancer UK. The added incentive of a huge plate of fish and chips upon finishing the course will only spur me on further!

Contributing just £1 or any more will be much appreciated, even more so since I know only too well how tight the last few years have been financially for so many people.
