Story

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

After taking part in last years run, I decided that it was an excellent experience and that I would take part again this year!

Once again Im going to be one of the 54,000 runners taking part in this years Great North Run on the 19th September 2010.

The run is a 13 mile Half Marathon with the course winding its way from Newcastle to South Shields passing through Gateshead and South Tyneside along the way!

Im going to be running for the Alzheimer's Society again this year which works to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The Alzheimer's Society staff and volunteers work together to provide help and information to people affected by dementia. The Alzheimer's Society services include day care and home care for people with dementia, as well as support and befriending services to help partners and families cope with the demands of caring. From Alzheimer's Café's and innovative 'singing for the brain' sessions to memory-book projects and group outings, providing both practical support and an essential point of human contact.

Alzheimer's disease is the most common cause of dementia, affecting around 417,000 people in the UK.

Alzheimers is a terrible illness which affects many families including my own and needs as much help and funding as possible so please dig deep and donate!

Thanks again for taking the time to visit my page!
