MARK BLADES MEMORIAL CUP COMPETITION
Monday 29 October, 6.30pm - 9.30pm
On 20 June this year our friend Mark Blades was stabbed to death in a horrific, random incident in Nottingham city centre.
Mark loved football. He used to play five-a-side every Monday night and scored some of the best, and cheekiest, back-heels.
On Monday 29 October (6.30pm – 9.00pm) we are holding a five-a-side football tournament at Harvey Hadden Sports Complex, in Mark’s memory.
The Mark Blades Memorial Cup is raising money for Victim Support who have been so amazing for Mark’s family recently. We would love this to become an annual tournament.
It costs £25 to enter a team of 5 (with a squad of up to 8). Each team will be guaranteed at least four refereed games.
There will be prizes for winners, runners-up, player of the tournament and, probably, most audacious back-heeled goal.
Thanks to generous support from Harvey Hadden Sports Complex, Pizza Express, Capital One and Adidas all running costs and prizes have been covered, so team entry fees will go straight to Victim Support.
Go to the Mark Blades Memorial Cup Facebook page to find out more. There are only a very limited number of spaces for teams still to enter.
