Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page to raise money for Breast Cancer Care.
It’s over 20 years since I ran my third and I swore, my last marathon. However cancer has intruded into my life far too much to do nothing and I want to run, walk or crawl this one last marathon to raise as much as I can to help those affected by this horrible disease..
Those 26.2 miles feel like the hardest thing any one person can go through. Thing is that running the marathon is nothing compared to the many many thousands of people battling cancer every day. In June 2010 someone very close to me for most of my adult life and the mother of two young amazing girls, died at the age of 48…taken by cancer. Then In September 2010 my partner was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Following surgery and many months of intensive chemo and radiotherapy she is now well on the road to full recovery.
Not everyone is as 'lucky'
In late June 2010 you wonderful people helped me raise almost £350 when I ran the Humber Bridge Half Marathon on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support. Well now I’m asking for your support again as I go the extra mile (well extra 13 and a bit) by taking on the Brighton Marathon on April 14 2013 in aid of Breast Cancer Care. I’m hoping to raise in excess of £500 so please dig deep and please please feel free to pass this on to your friends and family who may unfortunately been touched by this disease.
