Story
With less than one week's notice my friend Jason Cracknell has urged me to take the place of one of his original team members who fainted during training for this 450 mile bike ride. As you know I like to keep myself in tip-top condition, and 'race-ready'. Following a strict diet, and abstaining from alcohol all play their part . . . for life's losers, and as my old coach and mentor Jockey Wilson used to say . . you've either got it, and you haven't.
The charitable outcomes speak for themselves, St John's ambulance, Willen Hospice and East Anglian Air Ambulance.
So please dig deep and donate what you can, just a couple of quid will help make a difference. Thanks, Mark.
UPDATE
Well I did it! It was tough and the hills of Luxembourg and Belgium were epic in places. My worse/best climb was a solid 3.4 miles . . . it seemed never-ending!
My favorite memory was yesterday morning at 08:15 flying through the champagne region, watching the grape pickers hard at work, and then finally yesterday afternoon arriving at the Palace of Versailles.
Thanks to everyone who has sponsored me - photos to follow.
