Story
The last couple of months for my family have been predominantly spent in and out of hospitals. From my wife being diagnosed with melanoma to our youngest son being born prematurely 9 weeks early.
Throughout this extremely challenging time, the one thing that has really shone through is the incredible professionalism, compassion and empathy that has been shown to us by the various NHS staff that we have come in to contact with.
In particular, the team on the SCBU ward at Ysbyty Gwynedd have cared for Lincoln so well and been kind and considerate to all of our family at every step of the way so far. Lincoln is the second of our three sons who has received care within SCBU at Ysbyty Gwynedd and for this reason I want to give something back and raise some much needed funds for the unit.
In order to do this i will aim to walk the 6 main routes up Yr Wyddfa within 36 hours.
Starting at 7am on Wednesday the 19th October and aiming to complete by 7pm on Thursday 20th October. The order in which I hope to complete the routes is outlined below.
1. Watkin Path
2. Rhydd Du Path
3. Snowdon Ranger Path
4. Llanberis Path
5. Pyg Track
6. Miners
*Once each route is complete I will be travelling to the next start point by car.
This is a difficult time for everyone with the rising cost of living, but any donation would be extremely gratefully received, to raise whatever we can for a wonderful facility and an exceptional team of staff
Thank you, Mark
