Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. Please Note: All funds raised by us go to the charity, as we cover all of the running costs, fuel, entry fees etc ourselves, typically around £600.
This amazing event has been running since 1966, every 2 years. We have participated in various cars since 2000, and are back for more punishment this year. Over the first weekend of October 2016, we will be driving around 2,050 miles, virtually non stop, around Britain, in our 41 year old Triumph Dolomite Sprint. We have used this car twice before, so we know that both she and we can do it!
This event has now raised over £500,000 for various charities over the year, and we are pleased to be supporting The Guide Dogs Charity this time. Our target is something that we take very seriously, and we hope that you will support us in this slightly crazy, but very addictive, enjoyable, and at times grueling event.
We start in North London on Friday night, are in John O Groats for breakfast on Saturday morning, through Wales over Saturday night, Lands End for breakfast Sunday morning, and then back to north London Sunday night. We share the driving, which is over an advised route, including 15 control stops to ensure that we have completed the route, and kept to sensible speeds. It is not a race, it is an endurance event (for both the car and the drivers).
Over 100 Triumph cars will take part this year, and we hope to be one of the many finishers. We have a 100% record so far, so please keep your fingers crossed for us, and support us with a donation if you can.
Please see our updates as we get closer to the event.
Thank you.
