Story
Not content with a pleasant stroll in the wilds of Dartmoor, some friends and I came up with the daft idea of walking 19 Tors and 100km in under 42 hours on the 28th and 29th June.
If that wasn't difficult enough we aren't allowing ourselves any high tech navigation gadgetory plus we have to carry everything we need. That means no visits to be shops for water, food or dropping in at the pub for a pint.
And since we've decided to inflect this on ourselves we thought we aught to raise some money for good causes in the process.
I'm supporting the Hull Children's Univeristy.
Many of the children the HCU help live in adverse situations, some from families where there’s been generations of unemployment and sadly, some parents encouraging their kids to live life on benefits. Others are being brought up in care while some don’t deserve to be brought up in the despairing situations in which they find themselves. Hull Children’s University’s programme aims to maximise the learning potential of every child in our care and help provide an equality of opportunity for everyone.
