We raise awareness of AIDS through cricket to strengthen communities and fight disease

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In October 2010 I am going to Rwanda to work on a project with a fantastic charity called Cricket Without Boundaries (CWB). CWB is a UK based charity dedicated to helping, educating and developing local communities around the World through the spread and growth of cricket. It is also about personal empowerment, both for adults and for children. The Charity uses the sport to help develop personal skills ranging from basic teamwork to self-discipline and leadership

CWB has three main goals:

1. To spread cricket through coaching children and teaching adults how to coach; and

2. To link the sport to HIV/AIDS awareness and incorporate these messages into coaching sessions.

3. To bring together and empower local communities through cricket.

About the charity

Cricket Without Boundaries is dedicated to helping, educating and developing local communities around the world through the spread and growth of cricket. Crucially, CWB also uses cricket as a tool in the fight against AIDS. CWB’s training sessions have at their heart discussion about the disease in terms of prevention, treatment and equality of treatment for those with and without the disease.
