Story
Hello all!
Thanks for visiting. By being here, you must be at least halfway to doing the right thing and contributing to my sobriety, social downfall, carb overloading and chronic saddle soreness in the build up to competing in the Wales Ironman triathlon in 2017. An Ironman triathlon is best described as "The toughest one day endurance event in the world". In case you are not aware,
this involves:
2.4 mile swim
112 mile cycle
26.2 mile (marathon) run
I have decided that if I'm going to drag myself that far, I should make the most of it and try to raise some funds for charity. I’m raising money for a number of worthy causes with the main beneficiaries being Scope and Great Ormond Street Hospital. So please help me to support the work of these fantastic charities and the amazing support they offer to people. I really appreciate all donations, and each one will give me the encouragement to swim a little further, pedal a little harder, and run just a little bit faster.
I apologise to friends, family and loved ones in advance for the amount of effort, nerdy equipment, lycra in inappropriate places and boring Saturday evenings this may entail…with your help I’m hoping it will be worth it in the end.
Thank you so much for your generosity!
Yours in cleats, cadence, carbohydrates and chaffage,
Mark
