Story
I have known Andy and Soteria Trust for some time. He has eventually persuaded me to go and see for my self the work in Ibadan, Nigeria. I am joining the group going there this September. Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. The trip will cost £2000 per member, and I am looking to put in £1000, or my own money, and raise the rest.
Nigeria is very much in the news at the moment, so you will understand that going there is not something you do lightly. The abduction of over 250 school girls has gripped the world, but atrocities have been going on there for a long time, with many people dead, injured and many houses and even towns raised to the ground.
Soteria, through two schools aims to provide an escape from poverty for many young people and give them an education and the opportunity to work and support their families, through sponsorship of those in greatest need.
In a vain attempt at something to focus on and help me get fitter for this demanding visit, I am going to work up to swimming 1 mile, or 1.6km, or 48 lengths of Westgate Leisure, Chichester. I would like to attempt to do it all in one go, but that is quite a bit further than I have ever managed, and I've not been in the pool for over a year. If you don't want to sponsor me, that's cool, but why not donate anyway.
