0n the 1st June 1967, three days before my 6th Birthday I under went major open heart surgery at Southampton Chest Hospital. 

I was under the expert hands of Dr Johnson the consultant and Mr McMillan the surgeon. I spent a month in hospital and it is an experience that has never left my memory.

If it hadn't been for the BHF my family and the expertise of Dr Johnson and Mr McMillan and the NHS staff at Southampton Chest Hospital (now I believe a Tesco's store) I may not be here today.
