We offer information, support and research to people affected by Crohn's and Colitis

Story

I’m currently in training for a solo, coast to coast bike ride.

My ride will cover 100+ miles over hill and dale from the west coast of northern England to the east coast.

Many of you may be familiar with the ‘c2c’ which usually takes 3 days or so to complete, however I am going to attempt the whole ride in just one day!!

My chosen charity, Crohn's and Colitis UK is one which is quite personal to me. Three years ago I was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease which resulted in me having to undergo major emergency surgery.

Crohn’s is an inflammatory bowel diseases which lasts a lifetime, is often debilitating and for which there is no known cure. It can strike at any age, but begins most commonly in teenagers or young adults.

It is estimated that there are over 200,000 sufferers in the UK alone. Many of you may have friends, family or know someone who is similarly affected.

The main role of the NACC is to raise awareness, support sufferers and raise funds for research in hopefully obtaining a cure.

I fully appreciate these are worrying times for us all, however I would be so grateful if you could help by contributing to my fundraising. Even a couple of pounds would be really appreciated, just think of the pain I’ll be suffering on the day!!
