Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Mark who has lost most of his peripheral vision is urging people to support him to in raising money for Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Just over 15 years ago Mark, born blind in his left eye, experienced loss of field of vision in the other with a rare eye condition.

Fifteen years on, he has just 20 per cent of his field of vision left in the one eye and is helped to get around by his guide dog Seiko who joined him last summer.

Having a guide dog had made a huge difference to both him and his family’s life.

Before I used to be really eye-strained, anxious and in pain, but I can get out and about, swim and enjoy life more now.

And to show his thanks, Mark is swimming a mile to raise money for Guide Dogs for the Blind.

I want to give a bit back. Seiko has made such an impact already.

The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.
