Belfast Marathon Team Relay · 5 May 2014
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Usually, I have always kept normally fit and active. However, in late 2012, not feeling so good, and a hospital emergency, a heart problem was traced that required Bypass Surgery!
The guidance, care, support, and focus, I received from Dr McClements, all of the staff in the Coronary Care Unit, and Cardiac Rehab Nursing Team at the Mater Hospital, Belfast, was unbelievable!
Following my major heart surgery by Dr Sidhu at the RVH, and recovery, I was all too aware of the importance of the British Heart Foundations work, and this finally got me shopping for new trainers!
Bernie and Gillian from the Rehab Nursing Team put me on the road to regain my wellbeing, strength, and fitness. To give something back and say thank you to all of the people who helped me and my family, I am running the 2014 Belfast Marathon Relay on 5 May 2014 to help raise funds for the British Heart Foundation.
Hopefully the funds we raise will contribute in helping the British Heart Foundation find new better treatments for people with heart and circulatory disease, or develop new ways to better prevent or diagnose it, and research new discoveries about how the heart develops in the womb, to developing the treatments that could mend broken hearts in the future.
The BHF are the single biggest independent funder of cardiovascular research in the UK, and in Northern Ireland so far;
No donation is too small and I hope you can help us help a great cause!!
Many thanks for your support. Mark, Jordan, David, Stephen and Davey.
