Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I do not often rattle the collection box. However, I believe the time is right whilst I am still able to do something significant enough to make people of thinking of donating to an organization that helps so many in such a direct way. There are few of us who are not affected directly or indirectly through family or friends by the horrors of cancer. I am no exception to that rule.

So if you are able to stick a few quid in the box, not only will help (examples below) in some any ways but you may get some small pleasure in thinking of my possibly getting soaking wet whilst flogging my litlle leggies trying to get from Blackheath in London to the Eiffel tower on my push bike. Got to be quicker than Ryanair!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

£5 - pays for an activity set for children visiting a relative

£20 - pays for a hours Nursing shift at home

£160 - Pays for a full shift for a Marie Curie Nurse in the patient's home.

£400 - Pays for Marie Curie Cancer Care's contribution to the cost of caring for an in-patient in a hospice for a day.

£650 - Pays for an occupational therapist for a week.

£800 - Supports a team of scientists for a day at the Marie Curie Research Institute.

£1,000 - Would buy a portable oxygen system that will relieve distressing symptoms wherever the patient happens to be, not confining them to a bed.

Thanks- Mark
