When my mate took part in the 2010 charity ride to Gibraltar, I wanted to support him by joining the Winchester to Portsmouth leg…Having not cycled since a teenager (several years ago!!) I had to buy a bike to join him. And that was it… I was hooked….I’m pleased to say that bike has now been superseded by a slightly better one!!

The challenge is 900 miles, through 9 countries in 9 days. Having blown up a Land Rover driving through the Alpes… I hope I can master them better on two wheels. We will be leaving Winchester on 6 September and all being well should arrive in Venice on 15.

As I am funding the trip myself, all sponsorship money will go to Cancer Research UK.

Many people I know and love have been affected by cancer in one way or another and consequently it is a charity close to my heart. I hope that by completing this challenge I can help highlight and support the great work done by cancer research. Any sponsorship both large or small will help to make a difference to this worthy charity.
