Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am doing this for a fantastic cause Millie's Trust who raise awareness & help train people that work with children in First Aid - Essential skills that save lives. Then nobody else has to experience the terrible loss that Millie's parents have had to go through. I am a mum of 4 children myself, I am currently unfit & overweight and even though I used to be a very good swimmer in my youth (this was some years ago!) the fitness levels aren't there anymore and I got into the pool last week for the first time in at least 15 years. So to undertake this I am going to have to train hard which means getting up early hours before breakfasts, school runs etc and get into the pool. 1 mile may not seem a lot to some people but it is 64 lengths of a swimming pool but done continuous and without any rests or any sides to hold onto and with it being in open water at Salford Quays at approx. 15 degrees on a warm day, this also makes it more challenging.
I would be very grateful for any donation made towards this cause no matter how big or small, whatever you are able to spare to help change lives for families out there.
