Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On July 15 2011 i hope to be taking part in the Blue Cross Zambezi Canoe Challenge & Lion Project Expedition.
I will canoe 97km or 60.14 miles down the Zambezi river in Zambia, and then spend three days at a lion sanctuary, working with the African Lion & Environmental Resarch Trust (ALERT) who promote the development of sustainable lion conservation management plans. It is estimated the African Lion population has declined by 80-90% in the last 30 years which makes this conservation work all the more important.
Taking part in this unique challenge will raise vital funds to secure the future of unwanted and abandoned animals in the UK, while activily getting involved in caring for vulnerable animals in Zambia.
The target sum is £3,350.00 to be raised by the 6th of May 2011 so any donation will be greatly appreciated!
I am currently raising money through my work at a veterinary surgery and am planning a few "bag packing" days at ASDA with the help of my friends and a few fundraising nights including a Race Night at Armstrongs on Battlefield Rd in the southside of Glasgow on Friday the 4th of March from 7.30pm to 1am. Also a couple of fantastic Glasgow bands, Urban Acid Frenzy and The Mosa Funk Club are going to play a gig at Slouch on Bath St in Glasgow City Centre on the 24th of March, 7.30pm till 12am. All proceeds from these events will of course go to this amazing cause. A Charity Zumba Night is also in the pipeline.
