Story
We are raising money for our charity, TTP Education & Research, by joining with the official fundraising event of Lymphoma and Leukaemia in the London Brigdathon. This is a leisurely walk across 6 London bridges. Anyone can be involved and it is a great day out for family and friends.
TTP is a devastating acute life threatening disorder, which affects any age group, but usually young adults. Patients can be very sick, requiring intensive care and treatment. The charity' s aims are to provide research into this rare disease and provide support and education for patients and their families, as well as the medical community.
On our first Bridgathon, with your help we managed to raise enough money to buy a nano drop which measures the quantity of DNA in samples. This is important research to determine if there is a genetic predisposition to develop TTP. The last two years we raised enough funds to host the 2014 TTP Patient Day as well as preparing for this year's in October. Patients Day is where patients and our medical team get to meet and discuss new developments in TTP research.
We look forward to your continued support by joining us on the day.
