Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm running this half marathon to help raise awareness of this terrible illness. My inspiration is a very brave family who have recently lost a loved one to pancreatic cancer only 5 weeks after diagnosis.

Pancreatic cancer survival rate is incredibly low.  Even when diagnosed early the survival rate is only 3%.....the shocking thing is that this hasn't changed in 40 years.

Only 1% of cancer research funding goes to pancreatic cancer....yet It has the lowest survival rate of them all....this needs to change!

Somebody related to me is a member of the above family...... I want to do my bit to help raise awareness ......and fundraising for this cause can do exactly that...... that's my motivation to run a half marathon.......even at 46!!

No donation is too small ....any amount will be gratefully received.  If you can spare just £1, that makes my goal a step closer.....

Thank you so much for your donation!

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. Together we’ll make that possible.
