Karen Lewis Archer Was our brave, beautiful friend. A Wife, a mum, a daughter, a sister, a Paralympian, a colleague, a business woman, a volunteer, an author, a voice, the list goes on, but to all of us she was a LEGEND.

She was a friend to everyone she met and an inspiration to all. Her determination and amazing personality glowed and her voice inspired courage and allowed no place in this world for barriers.

So, Karen to us was our friend, our confident, our person to turn to, for advice. She was honest, kind and fiercely independent. Her sense of humour and character meant everyone who met her, loved, admired and were proud to have her as a friend.

Lorena and I spent lots of time with Karen in her last few months and were so inspired by her determination to fight this horrible illness to the very end. She did this her own way, she was never angry or grumbled. One night after a visit to hospital, Lorena and I decided if she could fight this and keep smiling and being there for everyone, we could do something in memory for her. Sadly, we never found the words to tell her, we would run the Great North Run in her memory. So Karen, our beautiful friend this is for YOU, we know you will be with us every step of the way and knowing us both so well, we will have a glass of wine and toast you. To our much loved and missed friend, smile down through the sunshine, laugh, smile, and know just how privileged we are, like many, many others to have had you in our life xx
