Story
On the 13th of November I will be going through a very surreal, terrifying yet exciting experience known as "LOST"
This will consist of me being blindfolded and driven to an unknown location which may be anywhere in the UK. I will have to find my way back to Glasgow with no money, assistance from friends/family ect. The likelyhood is I will not have access to a mobile phone/GPS devices during this experience as the drive to the unknown location will be anywhere around 6-8 hours.
It all sounds a bit of a crazy (not to mention...dangerous?) idea, and on a personal level it also directly comes into blows with some of my biggest anxieties (Being lost, stranded, not aware of surroundings ect.)
The money made from this event will be donated to the 'Terrence Higgins Trust' as collectively the chosen charity by the Glasgow Caledonian LGBT society (individuals participating may be donating to other charities/not all have joined through a society, but this is a society I am currently actively involved in within my University) This charity supports individuals living with HIV. This disease is one of the fastest growing long term conditions in the UK I feel is a bit of an elephant in the room, something we never really talk about and is one of which a negative stigma is attached to. I believe this charity is a great cause to support and isn't truly given the justice it deserves. To find out a little bit more about the charity, have a little look here! http://www.tht.org.uk/get-involved/Ways-to-give/Why-give
It would be great to see some support from friends and family, I am totally stoked to get involved and help out such a good cause that helps the vulnerable people within our society; any small contribution honestly means the world (:
Many thanks, Maria Maguire x
