Story
I love cycling & exploring the Leicestershire, Warwickshire & Northamptonshire countryside, however on 19/6/21 I will be cycling 200 miles ‘Up North’ from the East coast of Whitley Bay at sunrise over to the West Scottish coast of Ayr before the sunsets.
The training in all weathers has been tough & mentally draining, but miles after miles have been ridden & many a hill climbed so hopefully I’m ready for this mega challenge.
However all of this pales into insignificance compared to the heartbreaking & devastating news that my UHL Sonographer colleague Bex Ackerman & her family are going through when her 13yr old son, William, was diagnosed with a brain tumour.
As a mum, I can’t imagine what Bex, William & her family are dealing with each day, so join me to support Bex & to fundraise & fight against brain tumours to help find a cure to save our children & young adults.
- Brain tumours kill more children & adults under the age of 40 than any other cause....yet only 1% of the national spend for cancer research has been allocated to this disease
- 16,000 people every year are diagnosed with a brain tumour
- Brain Tumour Research is focused on finding a cure to help families like Bex’s
