Story
Five years ago exactly, I handed a letter to President Bush asking him to do all in his power to stop the use of torture and indefinite detention of prisoners at Guantanamo Bay. It's not something I think about every day, but torture is still going on around the world - as an intern at REDRESS this summer, I read reports on cases of torture perpetrated from Uzbekistan to Greece. REDRESS is an international human rights organisation that helps survivors of torture and related crimes obtain justice and reparation. It works with survivors to help restore their dignity and to make torturers accountable. I'm proud of REDRESS' work and hope you can help support the cause!
