Fundraising for Kerry Hospice Foundation
Story
Hi All, Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I'm hoping to raise some funds for The Kerry Hospice Foundation, in honour of my late father, Denis.
My lovely dad passed away after a short battle with cancer on June 6th this year. Thanks to the fantastic palliative care services that the Kerry Hospice Foundation provided, we were able to keep my dad at home with us for the duration of his illness. He passed away at home, surrounded by family, as was his wish.
A donation of any amount would be so helpful to this truly wonderful foundation, that provides support to so many nearing their end of life, as well as providing some relief to their families during this extremely difficult time. Thank you so much in advance for your support :)
The Kerry Hospice Foundation is an entirely voluntary organisation. Money collected goes to the following areas:
- At-home nursing care, including night nurses and out-of-hour nursing.
- Specialist palliative care medicines.
- Palliative Care equipment, aids and appliances.
- Patients, who need palliative care stay in designated nursing homes, and community hospitals.
- Running their Specialist Palliative Day Care Unit.
- Running their Patient Palliative Unit
- Extra financial support for patients and their families.
- On-going education of Nurse Specialists in Palliative Care
