Story
Next year I will be 47 years old!! No big deal?? Well sadly that is how YOUNG my dad was when he died of a heart attack in 1987. So I will be trekking the foothills of the Himalayas from 1st-11th November 2013, in his memory.
I am raising funds for the British Heart Foundation. I have chosen this charity in recognition of their contribution to the vast improvements in prevention & treatment of heart disease in the 25 years since my dad died. Through my work I see so many people being given the chance to survive heart attacks or prevent them due to the advances in managing Coronary heart disease.
Over the next 17 months I will be training to be fit enough for the challenge & working hard to raise the minimum sponsor ship, which is £2,750. As the charity part funds the trek from this donation I have set a personal target of £3,000. The fund raising is the part that daunts me more than the physical effort, but I have been amazed at the positive response & encouragement I have had so far! In fact I wasn't going to set this page up so soon, but people are asking how to donate already. So thanks in advance....every little amount helps.
