Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As a child I suffered with psoriasis and in adulthood developed a skin pigment disorder known as vitiligo in 1998. Vitiligo is a condition that causes depigmentation of parts of the skin, the cause is relatively unknown. Refusing to let my skin conditions hold me back I served a full career in the British Army, a very proud chapter in my life, leaving in 2012 after 23 years. I am now navigating the world of civvie street and have met many wonderful people along life's journey.  Many stop and stare, some actually ask what's wrong with my skin, to which it is difficult to do anything but smile and hide emotion! I want to raise awareness that it's ok to roll your sleeves up, wear a pair of shorts, go swimming or go to the gym, the real person is inside and that's what matters. I will be training and running the marathon wearing a running vest with my legs out and want to raise much needed funds for the British Skin Foundation, I would be grateful if you could support me on my journey :)
