Thanks for taking the time to visit Manchester Health Academy's JustGiving page.
This Christmas, rather than donating toys, please will you consider making a donation to support the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital's ONE BIG TOY appeal?
They say:
We know that our amazing supporters across the North West, like to give toys to children in hospital at Christmas – which is wonderful, and they are very much appreciated – but helping us raise funds to build a multi-sensory room is different: it will help us to make a difference for every child, every day - not just the ones who are well enough to play with a doll, a train or an X-Box this Christmas.
We’d like to convert an old storage room at the far end of our children’s cardiology and respiratory ward (ward 85), into a fully equipped multi-sensory room so that families with very poorly children can enjoy some much-needed space away from the very clinical ward environment.
The room will give poorly children a place to go and chill out when they’re feeling anxious about having treatments and surgeries. It can be a place to have fun, jump around and let off some steam after feeling confined on the ward. Or it can be a place for seriously ill children and those with restricted movement to relax, stimulate the senses and take their mind off their pain.
So please will you consider supporting our ONE BIG TOY appeal today.
Rather than donating toys, a donation will support children in hospital all year round. Big or small, your donation will help give our patients and their families a special experience when they’re going through a difficult time in hospital, no matter what the time of year."
