Story
3 months ago, my mom had a stroke. She was on vacation with my father when all of a sudden, she collapsed. She was rushed to a hospital in Guadalajara, Mexico. There, my father called me crying, not really able to speak. Eventually, he told me my mom's brain was bleeding. Doctors
gave us 2 choices. The choices were immediate brain surgery in Mexico, or fly her back home to the US (better equipment), with a 50% chance of her surviving. As a family, we decided to do the immediate brain surgery in Mexico. I grabbed my bags and flew out with Pita, my brother and
sister. It was the longest flight ever. Once we arrived to Mexico, my
mom was put in an induced-coma. We could only see her sleeping, with tubes down her throat. After nearly 100 hours in a coma, doctors were
finally ready to start waking her up. It was scary. They kept informing us that her blood pressure was rising and it wasn't a good sign. After prayers and good vibes from all over the world, Mama Castro opened her eyes. It was a miracle. She survived.
Mama Castro is now taking on therapy in Mexico. She has slowly started moving the left side of her body, which was the most affected. She has even started taking small steps on her own. It's a long road ahead, but remember, "Don't let dreams.....be dreams."
The purpose of this charity stream is to raise awareness. I want to try and help out as many people out there, who suffer from strokes, like my mother. Whether it's with therapy, medicine or research, I know we can make a difference. And we will.
Please join me in on this marathon stream to raise as much money as possible for such an awesome charity. Never did I imagine that playing video games would give me the opportunity to do something so special for others. So stand by me and lets BRING THE HYPE TOGETHER!
God bless. #VamosMamaCastro <3
