Story
Hello and welcome to my Just Giving raffle.
I am an artist and just wanted to do a little something to help in these crazy times.
In my personal experience nurses do the lion’s share of the work in hospitals so I have chosen to raise funds for the RCN Foundation . A charity whose aim is to support nursing and improve patient care. The Foundation is currently supporting nursing staff get us through the Covid-19 pandemic, offering practical and psychological support to hundreds of health care staff. Money raised through my raffle will be supporting the Foundation’s education arm; I firmly believe that through education we can offer long term support to nursing staff
For a donation of just £10 you could win this original artwork. Just like a raffle your £10 donation will provide you with a single ticket ( your name ) to be drawn on the 12th September from my sewing box.
If you donate £20 you will have your name twice in the sewing box and so on and so forth.
The nurse has been hand-embroidered by myself Justina Dewhurst-Richens, aka Mama Bea, on raw linen. I have been fascinated with tattoos since I was quite young and use the style to create my own drawings to then turn into embroideries. This nurse is my interpretation of a WW1 nurse tattoo. She is approximately 42cm x 42cm framed in a vintage frame which I have repainted.
Thank you so much for your donation and good luck x
Please note if you make your donation anonymously you will not be able to be entered in to the raffle.
The RCN Foundation is a wonderful charity that supports current and former nurses, midwives and health care assistants, as well as students and nursing associates , in times of hardship and assistance with developing their careers.
