I'm taking part in the Clipper Round The World Yacht Race: racing from San Francisco back to Hull. 10,000 miles, 7 races and a limited number of showers for 3 months!

Taking on something like this makes me realise how lucky I am and if my mid-life crisis inspires any of you to support the RNLI who voluntarily help keep sailors safe, it would be greatly appreciated.

If you want to follow the progress of the Edinburgh Inspiring Capital boat you can follow it on the Clipper website at www.clipperroundtheworld.com . We leave San Francisco on Sunday 11 April and finish in Hull on 17 July 2010.
