Story
As vaccines bring the promise of normality closer to many of us in the UK, the pandemic is far from over in Malawi. Another devastating wave of Covid is putting huge pressure on their healthcare system, with the battle to save lives from the virus coming on top of the all the other healthcare challenges the country faces. Your support is more vital now than ever.
This is your chance to support frontline health workers who work in a country where over half of people live on 76p a day, where there is only one doctor for every 40,000 people, and where less than 1% of adults have been fully vaccinated from Covid. Please help us protect the health, lives and futures of people in Malawi struggling with sickness and poverty during the ongoing pandemic.
- £10 will support young people to make safer, more informed choices and to know how to protect girls’ health.
- £25 will help train health volunteers to fight the spread of infectious diseases.
- £50 will help frontline health workers tackle healthcare challenges during the Covid pandemic
- £112 will pay the secondary school fees for a girl in Malawi at risk of early pregnancy, protecting her education, health, and future during the Covid pandemic.
- £5,612 will ensure access to clean water at a rural health centre, keeping patients and health workers safe and preventing the spread of Covid and other infectious diseases.
