Story

Monday 10 May. Ran the race yesterday, great atmosphere and perfect weather conditions. Started the run with my sister Agnes and finished it with my daughter Michelle who kept me going when I really wanted to stop. Did an excellent time of 58mins and 40 secs, there's life in the old girl yet! A huge thanks to all of you who helped me raise money for two great charities. xxx

Wednesday 28 April. 11 days to go. Great training run with my daughter Michelle last week, running between trees and bunny hops on benches on Glasgow Green! This morning I ran up and down the stairs at Bellahouston Park, lung busting but surely it's got to be good for you. Sense Scotland is 25 years old, half as young as me and celebrating its silver anniversary and 25 years of supporting deafblind and disabled adults in Scotland.

Friday 9 April. Only four weeks and two days to go! Been out running 3 times this week and longest distance I've run is 3 miles, never mind the legs are feeling stronger and the breathing is getting a bit easier. Glasgow Children's Holiday Scheme have launched their new website, visit http://www.glasgowchildrensholidayscheme.org.uk/ to find out more about this great charity. GCHS is Scottish Women in Business (SWIB) charity of the year.

all the best, Mairi

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This will be my first 10k in 3 years due to injury and general decrepitude! But having hit the big 50 last year I decided to do something about it, I hit the gym, did the diet and got my bounce back. This year I'm running the 10k for 2 charities, Sense Scotland and the Glasgow Children's Holiday Scheme both of which make a wonderful difference to people's lives. All funds raised will be split equally between the two charities.
