Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On Sunday 13th October 2013 my eldest daughter, Chloe and I shall be undertaking the challenge of a 13 mile sponsored walk around Bewl Water in Kent to raise money for the baby charity, Tommy's.
WHY??? (neither of us like exercise and its sure to be cold and wet)
On the 13th December 1996, my beautiful little boy, Alex (Chloe and Isobel's big brother) arrived in this world stillborn at 32 weeks. Nothing could prepare Paul and I for the loss of our first baby and he remains in our hearts forever. Our little boy would be turning 17 this December and I imagine he would be a cheeky little fella keeping us on our toes if he was here right now.
In March 1998, Chloe entered this world prematurely also at 32 weeks and remained in the good hands of Pembury SCBU for the first four weeks of her life. Thankfully she is a beautiful and healthy 15 year old today who will be helping her old Mum around the reservoir in October.
And in Sept 2002, Isobel completed our family (2 weeks premature) and we were able to take her home straight away. I cannot express the joy as we left hospital that day knowing she wasn't starting life in SCBU.
The research and funding 'Tommy's' provides into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth along with providing pregnancy health information is the reason why I can hold and kiss my gorgeous daughters good night each and every night. So, in short my daughter and I would like to give something back and here's where you come in. We need your support and we need you to hand over some of your hard earned cash that will go towards future research and support families who find themselves in our situation of years ago. (even the smallest amount helps...what ever you can afford will be greatly appreciated).
We will be walking in Alex's memory, however we will also be walking for the following friends and families babies (some who sadly also didn't make it and some who defied all medical odds and are now growing up into beautiful young people):
Aimee and Mattie, Elliott and Aaron, Neve, Luke and Owen, Elliott and George, Tahlia, Lauren and baby Murzell.
