Teacher Aid supports a school for disadvantaged village children in Zambia. It was started in 2009 in the rural Copperbelt with 10 children and now has 380 children in 11 grades, growing to 13 grades. Class sizes are 25/30. Exam results are phenominal. Corruption nil. Future Job prospects are high.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  For a most interesting and uplifting account, and why I entitled the page to improving the Zambian economy, please view the following:-

Briefly, Nsobe Trust is a  community school, run entirely on private donations, in a rural area of Zambia. It  started with a handful of pupils and is now growing a grade every year then a Natural Resources College will be built offering courses in various agricultural and tourism diciplines. There will be jobs to follow and the children are already learning business management, many teaching literacy to their parents! These bright village children are taught by dedicated teachers who NEED TO BE PAID A MINIMUM WAGE! There is nothing  concrete to show for your generosity except the A's and A*'s on their exam papers and the name Nsobe Trust on  top of the league tables! Many Zambian children leave primary school without being able to read and write whereas these will be as well educated as in top UK Primary schools. Government Schools are not good in rural areas. Nsobe is fabulous and the kids are lucky to be there! At every reception intake there is a long, long queue but this private school only for idsadvantaged kids can take just  50.

Sponsor a child and you uplift a family but sponsor his teacher and you uplift a community!

Please visit www.teacheraid.org.uk/Nsobe Trust for the details of how one lady's vision (Fiona Tomlinson) should uplift Zambia! It's one of the world's poorest countries yet it is fertile enough to feed the whole continent if managed properly!
