Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We're passionate about travel, challenge and adventure and if we can help out some great causes along the way all the better. The Mongol Rally has been a goal for years and being able to help MACS, the Nelson Mandela Foundation and Cool Earth in the process is fantastic.

On this page you will be donating to MACS who's annual meeting weekend and Christmas Parties I have performed at as The Magic Matt Show for the last 6 years and every time I am blown away by the comfort and enjoyment every single child and family shares through their work when coping with things I could never imagine. Here's what Barry & his team do in brief:

"We are the Micro and Anophthalmic Children’s Society – the UK’s national charity for children born without eyes or with underdeveloped eyes. We support families of children born with Microphthalmia (small eyes), Anophthalmia (no eyes) and/or Coloboma (cleft of the eye). Our services are accessed by around 500 families around the UK and some who are further afield.                                                                                                                                    If you are a parent, young person, or health professional, visit our site to gain access to essential support and a host of resources including a freephone helpline, financial assistance, respite holidays and practical advice around health and benefits.                                         One of the most important things we do at MACS is to give our members access to a network of other families who have a first hand experience of what they are going through. Through our regional support groups, families can offer each other peer support and participate in group activities which bring a sense of normality into their lives."

The Magic Matt Show and Ned Star will be funding 100% of the logistics of the Rally so 100% of any of your donation goes directly to the charities, anything you can afford to donate will be greatly received and go straight to a brilliant cause.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
