Fundraising for Voluntary Service Overseas
Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Just wanted to say thank you to all of you for donating so far! I am really grateful for the support and I've reached over well over my target because of the generosity of the universe.
Just so you know where you're money is going to:
For 3 months I will be working as part of a team coordinated by the VSO (Volunteer Services Overseas) an organization that works in association with the Department for International Development. Together we will work with schools and the community to promote health and environmental awareness on issues such as:
-Promoting the practice of keeping sources of water clean;
-Developing hygienic toilet habits
-Hygienic food storage and handling
-Improved drainage of household water waste
-Rainwater harvesting
-Cleanliness campaigns in the community
-Promoting the use of smokeless stoves
The programme will also promote social inclusion, as Nepali counterparts from various castes will have the opportunity to interact and work together. We will also be working with partners including the District Public Health office, District Education office, District Agriculture Development offices.
