STOP PRESS - Saturday 8th was a successful day for both of us.  Archie cycled some 43 miles to visit 24 churches.  Madeline read all 150 psalms whilst welcoming visitors to St. Leonard's, including a wedding rehearsal!

We have been taking part in the Beds. & Herts. Bike 'n Hike for eighteen years and hugely enjoy the day even when our muscles are aching or it's pouring with rain!!

This year, however, we have a bit of a problem in that a broken toe is preventing Madeline from cycling.  Instead, she will be welcoming other cyclists and walkers at our church of St. Leonard, Old Warden. She will also be reading aloud from the Book of Psalms and hopes to complete them all on the day.

Meanwhile, Archie will be on his bike visiting 20 local churches and cycling some 35-40 miles.

We are asking for your sponsorship of our efforts.  Half of the money raised will go to St. Leonard's and the other half to the Beds. & Herts. Historic Churches Trust to be used for grants for the care and repair of churches and chapels in the two counties.  As Grants Secretary for the BHHCT, Archie knows just how much this money is needed to keep these lovely buildings in regular use for the community.
