Story
In June, I will be running 42km in the African countryside to raise money for African Village Support. I chose AVS because they 1. Safeguard, empower and support women by providing education and supplies throughout pregnancy, assist them to achieve independence by teaching them skills that will aid them in finding employment, and provide a supportive network to help women emotionally. And 2. They are committed to helping young people continue their education to a secondary and tertiary level.
This will be a massive challenge for me, with heat and 1200m elevation adding to the adventure! But it is for such a worthwhile cause, and I would be so grateful for any donation you can spare- a little will go a long way. I will visiting the charity following the marathon and will post pictures so you can see for yourselves the difference your generosity will make, and the community you will be supporting.
The event- The Uganda Marathon is Uganda's largest fundraising event. Bringing people from all over the world for one amazing week on the Equator, this is an event to help those in need and support local leaders making amazing changes in their community.
