Story
Thank you for visiting my page. I've chosen to complete Swim for Sarcoma UK challenge, swimming 15km in 31 days for Sarcoma UK, a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments.
I was diagnosed with sarcoma at age 18 back in 2016. It started as a growing lump in my shoulder and spread to my lungs, so I am now on treatment for life. I am reliant on research, experimental treatments and am currently on a clinical trial as chemotherapy is ineffective and there are no approved treatments for my type of cancer. Sarcoma UK has been a huge support for me since my diagnosis.
Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue, it can grow anywhere in your body. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting me, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep the specialist Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.
Your donations will go so far in helping the sarcoma community:
£1 Could cover the cost of 12 texts to the support line.
£5 Could purchase 50 petri dishes, which researchers use to grow cells in the laboratory.
£30 Could fund one hour of use of a high-powered laboratory microscope.
Thank you for your support!
