Story
We are six friends, Andy, Carl, Ged, Paul, Pete and Rob; we bought a couple of Peugeot 405’s (Betty and Swallocks) which we drove from Widnes to Morocco. Our journey took us from Widnes, via Dover, Calais, Le Mans, Bordeaux, Bilbao, Salamanca, Seville, Gibraltar, Tangier, Fes, south towards Merzouga, the sahara desert and the Algerian border, before heading west across the Atlas Mountains to Marrakesh and on to Casablanca on the north Atlantic coast. Our car journey ended in Malaga where we donated both cars and contents to a local charity before returning to Manchester by easyjet, (we anticipated that this would be the most challenging part of the journey). We expected that the car journey would be about 3,500 miles (assuming we don’t get lost) and the total journey about 5,000 miles. What could possibly go wrong?
We took the opportunity to fundraise for the Alzheimer’s Society, so please dig deep and donate now.
