Story
On the 10th of Sept 2016 me, my 13 month old and my Mum are taking part in a memory walk organized by Alzheimer's society, our team is called Bacon's ramblers in honor of my Mum, Hilary Bacon, who lives with Vascular dementia and with the help and love of Jesus deals with it amazingly. I believe this charity helps a lot of people understand what it means to live with dementia and encourages us all to be dementia friends, hence why I am doing this. If you can give anything at all we would be very grateful. This walk is a big thing for me as I've been ill for many years and unable to get out of my house, recently however, thanks to God's good grace this has gotten better but I am still early on in a long journey to improve how much I can do. So this is something I am doing to motivate to keep trying to get out and walk :)
Around 225,000 people develop dementia every year – that’s the equivalent to one person every three minutes. This September and October Memory Walks will be taking place across England, Wales and Northern Ireland to raise money for a world without dementia. Arm in arm, step by step and pound by pound, we will get there. Once you donate, Just Giving will send your money directly to the Alzheimer's Society. So it’s the most efficient way to raise money – saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Please dig deep and help us walk for a world without dementia.
