Story
I can remember knocking on the door and she answered - but didn't recognise me. I had to repeat my name for her to realise who I was - I was her granddaughter, Lizzie. That's when I knew Dementia had began to take its toll. After slow progression unfortunately it came fast that she had to go into a care home. The worst years of my life began - visiting my whole life to not be regonized, to not be able to share memories and too see a living being who wasn't even there any more. Dementia is a horrible disease which takes over so many lives, with no warning or control. I pray every day that this disease is cured, that other people and other families don't have to watch their loved ones go through heart breaking change. Please join in with the Memory Walk and please donate, even if it's 5p - it will make a difference.
In Loving Memory of Lily Arch - my grandmother and best friend. ox
