Snowdonia Marathon · 30 October 2010
News update......
As some of you know last summer whilst training for the Snowdon Marathon I was put on crutches after doing something horrible to my leg. I finally had the verdict and they have told me that my leg was broken!! Basically I got hit by a softball (not soft) at a work social and the damage wasn't picked up. When I started hill, speed and weight training on it a smalll crack got bigger and I was out of action until the end of January 2011.
My big dilemma was that I don't want to let anyone down that had already sponsored me and still wanted to raise money for this great charity.
So to resolve this I have found a great two mega events in June that looks just the thing :-) Enough grrrr to satisfy the sadistic amoungst you and far enough in the future to allow me time to heal. An solo 8 hour run/ bike challenge at hellfire caves on 4th june:

and the South Downs Marathon on 11th june (only 1 week later)!!!!!
The plan is to retain the existing sponsorship so that the charity does not miss out and extend the fundraising period so that it covers these new events. If anyone thinks this is a poo idea I am perfectly happy to refund your original sponsorship so please drop me an email.
As you all know I often sign up for random events all over the place but it takes something a little bit special for me to want to do some fundraising so please give generously.
I am running for those who have run for our freedom and who as a result can no longer run for themselves. And more importantly I am running for those who need the support to find their fighting spirit again to get back on their feet after tragedy has struck.
The aim is to raise £10 for every mile run and all money goes to Help For Heroes. Please dig deep, our heroes need us. http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/
