Story

My Extra Mile (MEM), 9th June 2012 from 3-630pm, is a sponsored mile walk around Down Royal Race Course, followed by a Barbeque by Hamilton and Kirk, Family Friendly Fun, a kids' disco, a raffle and lots of events for all ages and stages, including a Donkey Derby!

We would ask for a minimum donation of £5 per adult and £4 per child for the walk and barbeque.  We want everyone to be able to participate and make this a fun day to remember.  We have use of the rooms and will adapt our fun to cope with whatever weather comes our way!  Please contact me on myextramile@live.co.uk or 07842 070086 for further details if you would like to join in the fun.

As a way of saying "thank you" to those who have gone the extra mile for us, we can pass on the love and kindness they have shown us by doing good for others.

Mum, who I was blessed to have as my best friend too, believed that, when received, you should pass a kind deed on by doing good for someone else.  She had planned to fundraise for Friends of the Cancer Centre when she retired; it was a Charity she worked alongside in her role as an Oncology Social Worker in the City Hospital and had witnessed the difference it could make to people's lives.  Sadly, she passed away very suddenly only 4 months short of her retirement and didn't get to complete her plans.  Her legacy lives on and we will be going the extra mile to fulfil her dream.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Many thanks,

Caroline
