A glass of red wine in match day hospitality, Cheryl Cole and Chris Moyles can probably be blamed for a lot of things, but this time a conversation was had and an idea was born..Staff from Manchester City FC and Umbro have teamed up to tackle Mount Kilimanjaro in only seven days.
The gruelling journey begins in Manchester on Wednesday 11 April, and continues via Abu Dhabi and Nairobi before they reach their final destination in Tanzania where the real hard work begins. By 19 April the team will have climbed for seven days through rainforest, moorland, high desert and arctic wasteland, and reached heights of 5895m.

All funds raised will be split between two benefactors. The first is ‘Shoot for the Moon’ an exciting new partnership between Manchester City and Sport Relief, helping young people reach their goals. The second is Cardiac Risk in the Young (C.R.Y.) which was chosen after two MCFC Academy player were forced to retire from football at only 15 years of age after discovering they had life threatening heart conditions
This is a very exciting challenge from some very normal people with a passion to challenge themselves way beyond their own personal boundaries and who want to make a difference while supporting and raising awareness.
