We provide specialist advice & support to reduce the impact of NF.

Story

Many members of Bab's wider family, as well as her own children have been significantly impacted by an inherited condition called Neurofibromatosis (Type1). This is a very complex condition with a range of symptoms including tumour growth on any nervous tissue (often requiring multiple surgeries), chronic pain and mild to severe learning difficulties. If you have Nf1 you have a 50% chance of passing it on to your children and it cannot be cured, however a lot can be done to elevate and reduce the impact of the condition. This includes research into new medications that can reduce the size of tumours and producing packs of information for schools and GPs to bring them up to speed on this often hidden and not well understood condition.

Nerve Tumours UK are the leading charity for Nf1 and 2 in the UK. All donations go to supporting families with Nf as well as supporting research into the condition.
