We provide understanding and support to improve the lives of people with M.E.

Story

I have suffered from M.E for most of my life. The illness first started to affect me when I was 12 years old. At its worst it took over my life and left me so physically exhausted that I needed a wheelchair to leave the house. Thankfully I was able to recover to the point where I can lead a normal life however my day to day life is still affected by the physical and mental tiredness the illness brings.

Over the years I have developed coping strategies to help me with the illness, running has been the most important of these.

It started as a small jog or two to try and reverse the effects of the tiredness. At first it was a small jog here or there, just as much as my body would allow me to manage. Gradually the running started to help me overcome the fatigue. As it did it became a huge passion of mine. The more it allowed me to do the more I wanted to do.

I've done races before but the next challenge had to be a marathon. I would have laughed at the idea of doing it a few years ago but now it seems like an achievable goal.

Please take time to read my blog about running with M.E and if you can then please donate to action for M.E.

It would be great if I could use this opportunity to give something back and to raise a bit of money to fund research into the illness and help fellow sufferers.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
