Story
Our trustee Michael is running the London Marathon to support The Makaton Charity and we're all joining in and doing our bit to help.
Armed with my trusty pedometer and my bright blue trainers I reckon that I can stretch my daily routine and walk the equivalent of at least 10 marathons before 26 April 2015 when I will join in cheering Michael on from the side lines. Allowing for adding that extra mile or five every day I’ve decided to stretch my target to 300 miles and at least £1,000 to our total goal of £26,200.
So please help us raise vital funds to expand our life-changing work for children, young people and adults with communication or learning difficulties:
- £5 answers a family’s call to our helpline
£10 pays for 5 information packs for schools
£30 will give an hour’s telephone assistance through our free advisory service
£50 enables us to develop a new Makaton symbol or sign for someone who uses Makaton
Makaton makes a real difference to people’s lives. It means they can ask for a drink when their thirsty or tell someone about their day. It’s important stuff.
Makaton uses signs (gestures) and symbols (pictures) to give someone a voice.
Help us to help people communicate.
Thank you!!
